about the editor

Alex Avelino is the marketing and communications specialist at the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine. Underrepresented No More is the marriage of her positions as an academic advisor/recruiter and master's student. In 2015 Alex became a part of the CVM community and in 2017 began her master's in mass communications at UF. Her hope is that the storytelling found in this website will inspire pre-vet students to know their worth to this profession, accept who they are and realize what that they have to offer their clients, classmates and the public.
